Seed A Legacy Habitat Program
Application Resources
The Seed A Legacy Pollinator Habitat Program works with private, public and corporate landowners and managers to establish high-quality pollinator habitat to improve the health of honey bees, monarch butterflies and other pollinators in a 12-state region of the Midwest and Great Plains.
Sites that are fully prepared and ready to be planted with existing vegetation fully terminated are typically accepted at a 100% rate. Applications being submitted with existing vegetation on them are encouraged to contact The Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund to schedule a call to discuss site preparation options.
Seed A Legacy program applications are accepted 365 days a year, but a cutoff date is used each season to ensure final ranking and seed delivery for each planting season. Final Fall enrollment decisions will be made around September 1. Final Spring enrollment decisions will be made around March 1.
Each Seed A Legacy project application is ranked using key criteria to ensure the best projects are selected. Factors influencing selection include site preparation, previous cropping history of the site, proximity to an existing or known apiary, current condition of the proposed project site and other site considerations.
If you have questions about the application or site preparation, please call 800-407-5337 or email info@beeandbutterflyfund.org.
