The Seed A Legacy Pollinator Habitat Program is available for private, public and corporate lands in a 12-state region of the country that is critical to pollinator health and habitat needs. Applications are accepted year-round. Seed A Legacy makes it easy for the owners and managers of private, public and corporate lands to create pollinator projects that make a difference. The program works to establish pollinator projects following our NextGen Habitat Project designs that are documented to provide increased pollinator benefits over other pollinator conservation programs. Each project has two separate plantings: one for Monarch butterflies and one for honey bees.

Michigan - Planted Fall 2020
“The habitat started off kind of slow, but with the rain we've received it's kicked the growth into overdrive and we've had a lot of new plants emerging, which is very exciting! The habitat has already changed the dynamic of wildlife we've seen around our house. We have a lot of pollinator friendly plants in our landscaping but we've seen a TON of native bees and Monarchs all over our property. We're regularly spotting hummingbirds, deer, and we've had turkeys out back as well. Every time I walk out back I see something new. My hives are also thriving.” -Jeremy, landowner |
Indiana - Planted Fall 2020
"A photo of the entire site doesn’t do it justice. I took several pics of clover and different flowers up close. The site has had an amazing transformation. It used to be a site of weeds and briars that was a refuge to wild pigs. Now it is a focal part of our property for both the wildlife and our family. Our entire property now holds more pollinators. We did a controlled burn this spring and bee balm came in. The entire hillside was full of butterflies. I would encourage other participants to do both on their sites. The projects are mutually beneficial in attracting pollinators and improving wildlife habitat." -David, landowner |
Minnesota - Planted Spring 2018
“I am thrilled with this habitat and the bees, butterflies, other insects seem to love it! Last fall I saw a couple pheasants out there. I have never seen pheasants on my property and I have been here since 2006. The birds also love it! I have had many positive comments from anyone who has seen it. My neighbor is a retired US Fish and Game employee and he can't get enough of it!” -Mark, landowner |
